Environmental Health and Climate Change (EHCC) Committee
The AAP-OC Environmental Health and Climate Change (EHCC) Committee was formed in 2020 to address the global climate emergency and other environmental health issues.
We are a group of pediatricians in Orange County who understand that the health of our young patients is inextricably linked to the integrity of our environment. Seventy-five percent of Orange County residents believe global warming will significantly harm future generations,1 and we are committed to responding to this concern.
As pediatricians, we believe we have a professional and moral obligation to ensure a healthy environment for the current generation of children, as well as generations to come.
We are focused on a number of goals, including reducing the environmental footprint of health care facilities, promoting environmental health and climate education, and advocating for legislation that promotes a healthy and sustainable environment.
We invite health professionals, students, and parents to join us. If you have any questions, or wish to learn more about our committee’s work, please email us at info@aap-oc.org.
